Providing Help for the Elderly in an Emergency

If you having aging parents, then you undoubtedly know what it is like to worry about them. You want to be there to help if they need it, but due to time or distance, you may not be able to. Many adult children have the same fears and worries, and choose to have the security of a home medical alert system to provide help for mom or dad in an emergency, if they can’t. LifeStation is one service that is popular, dependable, and affordable.

LifeStation provides easy to use equipment that is simple to set up, comfortable for the senior to wear, and is priced more affordably than some monitoring services that are similar. Once the medical alarm console is plugged into a phone jack and power outlet, it is ready to go, providing service to the help button worn by the senior.  And the help button is extremely easy for the elderly person to use. He/she wears the alert on either a lanyard, wrist strap bracelet or belt clip, and if there is a problem, a simple press of a button calls for help when needed.

When the help button is pushed, it immediately activates the LifeStation alarm console, contacting the monitoring service, generally within 20-30 seconds. The service responder will determine what is wrong, and then call the senior’s emergency contacts, according to the instructions given: 911, family, friends, neighbors, or even the senior’s doctor if specified.  Within minutes, emergency personnel can be at the doorstep of your aging loved one, providing assistance and medical help if necessary.

Many families don’t need a monitoring service, and will be fine with a system that is set up to call them directly if there is a problem. But for those that do require that added layer of security that a home medical alert system provides if it has a monitoring service, then LifeStation may very well be the perfect choice for simplicity, affordability, and dedication to customer service.
